It all started in 1976 at a recording studio in Hollywood, California. With Ron in his late teens and David just legal, future business partners David Harrelson and Ron Garrett were busy keeping the recording sessions of major recording artists technically moving. They worked with artists like Earth Wind and Fire, The Funkadelics, Prince, The Crusaders, Dean Martin, Glen Campbell, Yes, Dixie Dregs, Olivia Newton John, Michael Jackson, Little Feat, Michael McDonald, Colin Blunstone, Boz Scaggs, Helen Reddy, Edgar Winter, Dave Mason, The Doors, Alice Cooper, The Beach Boys, and many more . They were the team behind the scenes making sure the multi track tape machines and the Neve and API consoles were operating to the best possible performance. They were the ones working with world class recording engineers George Massenburg, Tom Perry, John Guess, Rik Pekkonen, Joe Chicarrelli, Al Schmidt, and on.

The Harrelson/Garrett team, while quite opposite in personality, has always been respected in the music business. While they each moved on separately through the decades, working for the biggest recording studios and recording artists in L.A., they eventually reunited in 1994 and, partly due to their customer's insistence, a decade later established ALIVE SOUND in Burbank California.

With over thirty years history in building, designing, and maintaining recording studios in many countries around the world and for the greatest acts in the business, the team followed its passion and till this day, still builds, designs, and repairs audio gear for the recording industry, live sound venues, pre and post video facilities, night clubs, and the instrument Retail world. Not only have they kept up their great track record in the recording studio world, they constantly get approached by manufacturers to repair their audio components as well. Today, ALIVE SOUND services almost every conceivable audio component known to man: from multi track digital mixers to keyboards to vintage synthesizers and tube microphones. Their knowledge of tube components of yesteryear to the computer based digital world of today make ALIVE SOUND an audio service center of almost every brand there is. Unlike most service centers, ALIVE SOUND is an all-in-one service and design center. While ALIVE SOUND designs specialty mic pres for the picky recording engineer, it also services small semi-pro components as well.

The design team at ALIVE SOUND is tried and true. Whether one needs a Recording Studio designed and built, a vintage 24 track analog tape machine repaired, a live sound system for bands on tour modified and made bulletproof, or a keyboard or guitar amp repaired, ALIVE SOUND does it all. No project is too big or small for this crew and the proof is in the history of this team.

ALIVE SOUND has yet one other merit, which is simply that they are just a bunch of nice people. No inflated egos here, just people that love their career and love what they do. There is a reason why, after over three decades, they are still serving the needs of the music industry. Since the 70's, the old timers and greatest shows on the road have relied on ALIVE SOUND for all their Professional Audio Repair needs. ALIVE SOUND is the one stop shop for the Musician, Producer, and Recording and Live Sound Engineer. No one does it quicker and better than ALIVE SOUND.
